Marmoset monkeys are some of the smallest monkeys in the world. They come from the Atlantic Coastal Forest of Brazil and are known as New World Monkeys.

When full grown their body length is around 7 ½ inches and average adult weight is 9 to 12 ounces..

We also have the Cotton Top Tamarins and Red Handed Tamarins

When grown their body length is around 9 inches and they weigh around 14 ounces.

Tamarins are generally more sociable than Marmosets and are the comics of the small monkey world.. generally very vocal, playful and dramatic.

Tamarins are on the critically endangered list due to widespread use in biomedical research until banned by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species in the 70’s. Continued destruction of their native habitat in Colombia keeps them on the endangered list. Captive breeding is rebuilding the population

A MONKEY IS A COMPANION NOT A PET

These little guys can live up to 20 years so it’s a huge responsibility you’re taking on when buying one. Please understand that they are very social creatures much like us humans and need your undivided attention 24/7.

They do not like to be left alone for any length of time. If you’re unable to spend most of your day with them then maybe a monkey isn’t for you. If they are left alone for long periods of time they can become depressed or aggressive and unmanageable.

Their personality is very affectionate, curious, love attention and playing. They have huge personalities and are extremely intelligent.

These monkeys are usually diaper trained from an early age. Despite monkey mythology these animals do not throw their poo..

These highly intelligent little guys need stimulation from their human family unit as well as many toys to play with in their cage, this referred to as enrichment.  This can and should include hammocks, hanging beds, mirrors, and a range of toys both suspended and toys which they can cuddle.

We can answer questions and advise on how to best equip your habitat, here is some of the equipment you’ll need.
